Brightlands Materials Center (BMC) in Sittard-Geleen focuses on innovative polymeric materials and coatings through four program lines, including Sustainable Buildings.
The Sustainable Buildings program line is the initiator of this OP Zuid project LEEF and contributes the knowledge and experience of the new technology for coloring solar panels and the technology for thermochromic coatings on windows. This technology for dirt-repellent colored BIPV panels will be demonstrated in the project on 300 solar panels that will be placed and monitored in a field environment. The technology for smart thermochromic windows will be demonstrated in the project on at least two demo windows that will be placed and monitored in a test building. BMC will also expand its existing infrastructure with a pilot line for the single-sided application of functional coatings on glass.
